Thailand has recently joined a growing number of countries around the world in legalizing cannabis for medical use. Can this plant, which is still being seen as an intoxicated narcotic by many people, become a modern-day medicine that will be applied to the general public. Would the highly-professional medical community in Thailand welcome the cannabis oil developed by an untrained layman, whose formula is popular among a large number of Thai people? This episode also discusses the efforts in Thailand to breed new strains of cannabis with high therapeutic quality. The show talks to Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pattapong Kessomboon of Faculty of Medicine, Khon Kaen University in the northeastern part of Thailand, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sornkanok Vimolmangkang, a researcher on medical cannabis at Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chulalongkorn University.
