What is CBDA vs CBD?
CBD is a well-known compound of hemp plants, with many health benefits. However, you may be surprised to learn, hemp plants do not directly make CBD. It makes the acid form of CBD which is CBDA. Hemp plants only contain the acid form of CBD, which is called CBDA, (cannabidiolic acid), which then is converted to CBD when it is extracted at high temperatures or exposed to oxygen

Although you’ve probably never heard of CBDA, it’s not new. It’s always been there in fresh raw hemp and cannabis plants. The problem is that CBDA is very unstable, so the acid or the A in CBDA is lost when its heated or extracted. CBDA in Twin Creeks, Allen TX

Even when extracted using low heat methods, the acid compounds in CBDA are rapidly lost from exposure to oxygen. So, in order to unlock the full potential of raw CBDA, a new technology had to be created.

Recently, a major breakthrough technology was developed to extract CBDA from hemp plants while keeping intact all the naturally occurring CBDA acids found in the hemp plant.

First, the CBDA is extracted from the hemp plant using low temperatures, but then it must be stabilized to preserve all the acid compounds that are normally lost to the exposure of oxygen.

This is why we had to develop a new technology to create a stable, full-spectrum CBDA oil. Our patented process is a unique technology that stabilizes the CBDA acids using a combination of food grade coconut oil, fermentation, bioreactor heating and cooling, condensation and oxygenation.

Just like nature intended, Oxyoil is full of natural hemp plant terpenes and other vital food factors. And it has many other very unique qualities, such as being an oxygenated and hydrophilic (mixes with water) lipid compound that is also very high in beneficial lauric acid (50 to 75%).

This results in a highly therapeutic CBDA compound, which we call Oxyoil, which we use in all our Moon Harvest CBDA products.

Oxyoil is new and exciting, full-spectrum CBDA compound that is up to 100 times more bioactive than regular CBD oils and can be used in a variety of products and delivery systems, such as edibles like gummies, syrups, tinctures, creams and vape products.

And, most importantly, our customers love it because it gets great results.

Is CBDA better than CBD?
According to an article in Discover magazine, “CBDA compounds may have even more therapeutic potential than CBD, due in part to their potency. CBDA, for example, is reportedly 1,000 times more potent than CBD when it comes to reducing nausea. It may be more therapeutic for other conditions as well.” CBD vs CBD

The “father of cannabis research”, Dr. Raphael Mechoulam, MD, who discovered THC in 1964 is very excited about the healing potential of CBDA. In a recent interview with Discover magazine, he said, “CBDA is a very good anti-anxiety agent…. It also has an antidepressant effect and it’s a pretty potent anti-pain compound.”

Benefits of CBDA
Experts consider CBDA to be the “original CBD” and as a precursor to CBD oil, it has many of the same potential benefits as CBD oil, including supporting relief from stress, anxiety, pain, inflammation, skin problems, insomnia and much more.

Here’s what a leading cannabis researcher and medical doctor, Dr. Sulik says about CBDA:
“We know that CBDA has a higher bio-availability in humans, with 5-11x better absorption in humans than CBD when taken orally.[1] There is also some evidence-based on animal models that CBDA is stronger and more potent than CBD, not just because it’s getting absorbed better but because it’s acting more powerfully. For example, animal studies have found CBDA to be 10 times more potent than CBD in a model of seizures [2], 100x more potent in a model of inflammatory pain [3], 10,000x more potent in a model of nausea [4], and 50,000x more potent in a model of anxiety [5].”

He also wrote, “I do expect CBD users to find products containing CBDA much more potent, and some to find switching to CBDA altogether more effective for relieving their symptoms and promoting health.”
