Anxiety! It’s a normal feeling which is experienced by us all.
It is so dominant in today’s society and cripples so many people’s lives due to a heightened state of panic and fear delivered constantly through mainstream media (the negative and fear based news is a perfect example); As well as the deep desire to be perfect which is linked into your fight or flight response and a desire to survive and ultimately thrive. Whatever that desire comes from is irrelevant as it can be turned into a powerfully positive tool, if used in the right way. Anxiety has two sides to it, as does everything in existence, the double-edged sword. Light and dark, left and right, love and fear, acceptance, and control! A desire for perfection can be a gift when put to constructive use for the collective.
When it is seen as a negative and we try to run away from or deny it, it then becomes the reverse and is fuel for anxious feelings.
Did you know the biological and chemical reactions within our bodies are almost identical when experiencing excitement and anxiety? We’ve simply given one future potential event a positive outcome and meaning within your mind, and the other a negative attachment. It is the mind that decides if its positive or negative, so choose mindfully!
