A few nights ago, I was putting mom to bed. While we finished her nightly routine, she started shaking. Now, she has been getting tremors in her hands and we’ve been able to calm her down and treat them, but this was way different.

Her whole body was shaking like she was having a seizure. I know about seizures because my son has Epilepsy and we’ve been many times to the ER. Anyways, this wasn’t a seizure because she was talking, asking me what was happening to her body and why.

I got scared and called my two nephews in to help. It was a flash of a moment on what to do. We had already given her all of her pain meds and any more would have been a possible overdose. We had been giving her CBD tincture but all those were empty.

Only thing we had left was these watermelon fruit band edibles. Mom couldn’t chew anything because her dentures were out, so one of my nephews had an idea to blend them in a little water in the Nutribullet so she could drink it down.

Within 30 seconds of drinking this blended watermelon edible, mom calmed down and felt amazing to the point she sat up in bed and started dancing.

I missed recording the first dance so this is a repeat she did for us because she was feeling better. She laid down and went to sleep and upon waking the next morning, she said she felt “wonderful!”.

Now, many of you might not agree with what we did or might think this video is disrespectful or we’re making fun of her. So for that I’m sorry you feel that way. However, if my mom is happy and pain free, that’s all that matters. Also, mom is a performer, loves the camera and she loves to dance and will do so any time she can.

Our job is to make her comfortable until she passes as she has Non Hodgkins Lymphoma, Bells Palsy, Alzheimer’s and Dementia. She can’t see out of her left eye because of the Bells Palsy, and now has tremors in her hands.

So at 97 years of age, this woman, a former Marine is fighting death as best she can and so are we.
