The Cannabis 101 Podcast is your guide through the legalization and consumption of cannabis in Canada and beyond. It’s not just about getting high, it’s about getting healthy. Catch Hour One on Tuesday and Hour two on Wednesday.
I was so lucky this week to be able to visit and tour Parkland Growers just outside of Edmonton, Kieley Beaudry and Dustan McLean were great hosts and guides and I learned so much from them and their amazing set up. You’ll be amazed at the video of how they built their Micro Grow Operation. They joined me on the show to chat about growing and why they decided to go with seeds and pre rolls to start. They have some amazing cultivars and I don’t know how many companies put the CEO’s phone number on the packaging, but they really stand behind their product. Did you know the cannabis plant smells different at night than it does during the day? What is the northern Alberta outdoor growing climate like?
Chris Ianson is our educator and a Regional Manager with Plantlife Cannabis. Each week on Know Your Buds, we explore a different cultivar and make recommendations for what level of cannabis user it fits with based on their level of experience. On the menu is Bow Valley OG from OGEN, a privately owned LP from Calgary. We chatted about their facility and growing process and some of the cultivars they have on the way. It’s been called a ‘Power Sativa’ and it has an amazing 6.27% terpenes along with 18.4% THC making it a terrific example of the entourage effect, which we explain in the segment. A lineage with a few different stories, unique packaging and a really, really, really strong smell.
The Cannabis Question is about getting high with movie or TV characters while What Goes Well With Cannabis is about the Dude. Individual segments will be uploaded starting Thursday and don’t miss One Hitters with Dustan McLean of Parkland Flower on Sunday.
