Dr. Natalie Crawford, board certified OBGYN and REI, discusses the impact of marijuana and getting pregnant and fertility outcomes. Cannabis use can impact sperm production and male hormones (testosterone), decrease ovarian reserve and ovulation, decrease the chance of live birth naturally and with IVF. Miscarriage rates are higher in women who use marijuana and pregnancy complications, including increased chance of placental issues and neonatal death, are more prevalent in women who report positive marijuana exposure.
