Bear cubs naturally spend their time playing, exploring, and socializing with one another and their mother, but at Oswald’s Bear Ranch, cubs are used for photo ops that are highly disruptive and can result in long-term psychological stress.
Recent video footage shows Ashley, Sophie, and Sassy pacing and crying out while confined to a concrete-floored enclosure that prevents them from having opportunities for normal exploratory behaviors to help them grow and learn. Concrete can be especially damaging to the cubs’ fragile bones and muscles and lead to painful and debilitating joint problems as they age.
Please visit PETA.org to learn more and urge Oswald’s Bear Ranch to stop using bear cubs for photo ops, move the cubs to large naturalistic habitats, and close down the concrete holding area.
